Geography

鈥淭he study of geography is about more than just memorizing places on a map. It鈥檚 about understanding the complexity of our world, appreciating the diversity of cultures that exists across continents. And in the end, it鈥檚 about using all that knowledge to help bridge divides and bring people together.鈥 - President Barack Obama

We aim to inspire a curiosity about the world and its peoples which will stay with our pupils throughout their lives.

Pupils develop an understanding of Human and Physical Geography and how the two areas interact, thus helping to shape their views on global issues such as the environment and sustainability.

Fieldwork

Fieldwork plays a central role in this subject at 色中色视频’s Juniors. Learning by experience is essential in Geography and pupils develop a large array of skills, such as: sketch mapping, teamwork, analysing data and employing critical evaluation. Junior pupils complete a local study onsite, spend the day at Henley River Museum and are afforded the opportunity to visit Iceland in the Second and Third Years. In their penultimate year, pupils visit the Lake District taking part in a joint Geography and Science outdoor education field study week.
