Rackets is the fastest and arguably the most exciting of ball games, with ball speeds of up to 160 mph.
It is played on a court 60 feet long and 30 feet wide, with a ball that resembles a golf ball.
Rackets originated in the debtors’ prisons of the mid-18th century, preceding squash — a miniature version of the game … played with a softÌý²ú²¹±ô±ô!
There are now 14 schools which play rackets and we all employ full-time professionals to coach the sport. Pupils who take up rackets can look forward to a full programme of school fixtures and the National Schools Singles & Doubles Championships held at the Queen’s Club in London. We’re immensely fortunate in our outstanding court — built through the generosity of an anonymous benefactor.
In addition, we also run a popular evening rackets club: Weekdays 6.30pm – 9.30pm, Saturday & Sunday 10.00am – 4.00pm
