Yesterday saw our 1st XI cricket team take on The Leys School in a 50-over match as part of the Monkton Combe Cricket Festival.
Despite The Leys putting on a score of 278, an incredibly strong partnership between Anosh Malik and Akhil Sofat saw É«ÖÐÉ«ÊÓƵ’s chase down the total with more than ten overs to spare, giving us an eight-wicket win. Both Anosh and Akhil scored centuries as they put on 212 runs between them, with a special mention to Anosh who also batted his way to a ton against Reed’s School just two days earlier. He is the first player in the 1st XI to score a hundred in consecutive matches since the 1930s!
The bowling was ably led by Dan Whiley Bowles, picking up a five-wicket haul to help skittle The Leys’ batsmen out. A fine all-round team performance with both the bat and ball, congratulations to all the players and coaches involved.
