Between 18-22 November, six teams of dedicated Fourth Formers took on the challenges set by GCHQ to participate in the National Language Competition.
The puzzles were based on various languages and involved decoding different challenges and searching for rare 鈥楨aster Eggs鈥� to boost their points. Not only did the SPS pupils excel in the competition, but they also identified an issue with the online platform that some unscrupulous teams from other schools were exploiting to artificially inflate their points; GCHQ was most apologetic when this was brought to their attention!
SPS鈥檚 top two teams ranked 8th and 11th nationally, out of over 2,000 participants, and thoroughly enjoyed the challenge. A special well done to the members of these teams; in 8th place: Bruno Leone, Kareem Toema, Vinushan Chandrann, and Issam Abou Zaki, and in 11th place: Kevin Mingchong Lu, Sehwan Lim, Nicholas Glaus, and Yidong Xu.
